We can no longer directly help with vet fees, neutering or rehoming
Sussex Pet Rescue is not closing, but instead we’re using our resources to support other small Sussex based animal charities to continue all the important work that they do. These charities will be carefully chosen to ensure that their aims and objectives are in keeping with the policies that have guided us for many years in the health, care and rehoming of companion animals across the county. This new approach allows us to be involved in helping a wide range of different animals, including wildlife, and also to continue supporting people with vet costs if they’re in financial hardship.
See Help with vet’s fees, neutering and rehoming for links to organisations who may be able to help you directly.
These changes have partly come about due to Jan Meredith retiring later this year, after 36 years with the Charity. It has been a very difficult decision to make, but is necessary for a number of reasons including ill health and commitments of the other Trustees.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who has supported us over many years, foster homes, volunteers, fundraisers, behaviourists, vets and all those wonderful people who opened their homes and hearts to take on an animal in need, without whom our story wouldn’t exist.
Your continued support on this new journey will mean that the help we can give to the animals can continue into the future.
